Dr Salma Abbasi, Chairperson and CEO, eWorldwide Group, delivered the keynote ‘Innovation 4.0’, during the opening session of the STEM and Creativity Fest. in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Dr Salma emphasized that there are huge diverse opportunities for youth from the ‘4th Industrial Revolution’, which are embedded in the innovations that are fusing and integrating the physical, digital and biological spheres. She also stressed the need for Governments, Educational and Financial Institutions to update their policies and practices to ensure that holistic enabling environments are created for ‘start-ups and entrepreneurs’ to evolve and flourish across all sectors, particularly across the Agriculture value chain in Africa.

eWWG Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Senior Special Advisor to the President of Nigeria on Disability Matters, Abuja, 10th August 2017

Dr Salma Abbasi, Chairman eWorldwide Group and Mr Shahzad Akhtar, Managing Director VR1, signed an MoU with Dr Samuel Ankeli the Senior Special Advisor to the President of Nigeria on Disability Matters to ensure inclusion and accessibility for People with Disabilities (PwDs) in Nigeria.

At the signing ceremony, Dr Abbasi was appointed as Special Ambassador on Disability Matters for the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the main areas of focus being; promotion of inclusion of People with Disabilities (PwDs) in policy and decision making processes, establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to provide ICT enabled services and support for PwDs to ensure inclusion and participation with the various State and National programs, design and develop sensitization training for policy makers to address challenges faced by PwDs, design and develop a series of sensitization trainings for teachers to constructively engage PwDs, development of holistic strategies and innovative project concepts for PwDs to enable economic and social empowerment, design and develop project concepts for potential funding from donor agencies and corporations
