The eWorldwide Group (eWWG) is an international organization, focusing on science, technology and innovation, ethical applications of technology for inclusive and sustainable development and cyber-safety. We drive change through digital transformation and the use of technology for social good, stimulating innovation while emphasizing human factors, human resilience and right skilling.

 
We work with governments, development agencies, non-profits, and multinational corporations to enable enduring sustainability in underserved and emerging economies to ultimately achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a sustainable future for all.


eWorldwide Group was founded in 2001 by Professor Salma Abbasi whose career as a technologist in Silicon Valley has spanned more than three decades, rising from an AMD Engineer to a Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Lucent Technologies. With her passion for philanthropy and social activism and experience with technology, eWorldwide Group was formed as an ideal outlet to combine these qualities to deliver impactful and socially responsible technology led services and solutions around the world.


Working within an innovative business model that includes a consortium of 37 successful international companies and universities, including several Fortune 500 companies, we are able to provide not only state-of-the-art, turnkey technology solutions but also relevant and effective skills development and training.

 
Our team has unique expertise in the challenges of driving economic development and change, particularly in the context of achieving the SDGs. This includes deep experience in the engagement and management of multi-sector stakeholders, and 20+ years integrating and managing technologies for social good. eWorldwide Group has a track record of success in creating strategic and tactical implementation roadmaps, policy reforms, and processes for training, re-skilling and capacity building.

Prof. Salma Abbasi

Professor Salma Abbasi
Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer

Prof. Salma Abbasi is a technologist, philanthropist and social activist, with a proven track record as a visionary leader with dynamic drive and positive energy. She motivates both professionals and the civil society. A former Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer of Lucent Technologies, she has over 40 years of experience in the fields of technology, innovation, people-centric design and policy development.

 
Prof. Abbasi is a graduate of Civil Engineering (BSc) and Electrical Engineering (MSc) and has a PhD in Information Communication Technologies (ICT) for Development. This diverse engineering background has given Prof. Abbasi a unique foundation to innovatively resolve complex problems at both the strategic and tactical levels, in the public and private sectors around the world.

Stuart Monks

Stuart Monks
Chief Innovation Science and Technology Officer

Stuart Monks is a technology leader and mentor who now works with start-ups to help them build capable, resilient management teams and grow their business. He has over 30 years of experience working in Silicon Valley where he held GM or VP of engineering positions at Polycom, Prysm Inc., Procket Networks, Redback Networks and Ascend Communications.

 
He was both co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Merlin Systems, an optical-interface company purchased by Redback Networks. He has a passion for enabling groups to become effective teams, capable of working together to rapidly solve new and challenging problems. Monks has a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Manchester in England and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Marc Azizuddin
Chief Financial Officer

Marc Azizuddin brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, accounting and technology implementation, and has a deep understanding of GAAP compliance. He has advised multiple NASDAQ50 clients and has held a series of CFO roles at numerous for-profit and non-profit organisations. He specialises in business planning, financial analysis and reporting, financial operations, global operations, growth strategy, risk mitigation, and turnarounds. Azizuddin is also an expert in IPOs, equity financing, M&A and investor relations.

Sam Jiwani
Chief Sustainability Officer

Sam Jiwani brings over 25 years of experience providing technology-based business solutions and creating global alliances. In addition to IT projects, he has created alliances in the areas of green technology such as solar energy and wind power, and other areas such as aerospace, rapid transit and education.

 
Jiwani’s industry expertise is broad, including commercial banks (retail, wholesale and international), communications, electronics, entertainment (television and motion pictures), heavy construction, manufacturing and distribution, media (newspapers), petroleum and real estate (mortgage banks and title insurance).

François Barrault

François Barrault
Chairman, DigiWorld Institute

François Barrault is a business leader, entrepreneur, investor and digital specialist. He is an engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and holds a DEA in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Since 2011, Barrault has been the Chairman of the IDATE & DigiWorld Institute, an influential European think tank in the field of digital. From 2004 to 2008, he was CEO of British Telecom Global Services, a subsidiary of British Telecom (US$17 billion in revenues, 37,000 employees in 176 countries), and a member of the board of British Telecom PLC. He led the rapid development of British Telecom Global Services into the world’s leading networked IT services company through the acquisition of 32 companies in 4 years. In parallel, he led BT Innovate, the innovation division of the British Telecom Group, and also initiated and sponsored numerous partnerships with leading universities in the US and England. Prior to joining BT, he was President of Lucent International, where he led the integration of 38 acquisitions in the internet and mobile sectors.

 
Barrault is a senior advisor to a dozen investment funds and foundations, a regular speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and he teaches at prestigious universities such as Columbia, Harvard, Mines Paris and Centrale.

Dr. Kevin Cushing
President, CEO and Founder, Dalma Tech²

Dr. Kevin Cushing co-founded Dalma Tech in 2004. The company provides systems engineering and development services throughout a system lifecycle. As the President and CEO, Dr. Cushing is responsible for providing leadership to the operations of the company. This includes the development of a strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organisation.

 
Since 1981, Dr. Cushing has worked in the Middle East with companies such as McDonald Douglas and General Electric on a wide variety of large projects with multi-million and multi-billion dollar budgets. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, an MBA and a PhD in International Business.

Dr. Suraya Sulaiman
Innovation Provocateur, Alpha Catalyst

Dr. Suraya Sulaiman specialises in innovation policy and transformation, helping both governments and organisations focus on strategy, leadership, culture and capability challenges. She has been involved in various national level projects, from the development of an innovation index to accelerate innovation in the corporate sector, creating blueprints for open innovation, to designing strategies to spur innovation and entrepreneurship at a national level. Her latest projects have involved creating a regulatory framework for private online healthcare services and developing a digital transformation roadmap for government agencies in the financial sector. She was recently appointed as one of the taskforce members for the technical committee on innovation management (ISO 56000) by the Department of Standards in Malaysia.

 

Dr. Sulaiman has co-authored two books and published numerous articles on innovation. She has been pivotal in the development of a proprietary innovation management and transformation software which is designed to leverage collective intelligence and empower innovation across organisations, bypassing silos and overcoming biases.

Dr. Amanat Hussain

Dr. Amanat Hussain is a strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering large and complex transformation programmes. He has effectively mobilised diverse stakeholders working across multi-cultural boundaries to deliver in complex and dynamic environments. He has the ability to establish a culture of empowerment, trust and accountability across the organisation.

 
Dr. Hussain has managed and delivered complex transformation programmes in diverse market sectors including defense, financial markets and public safety. He has successfully delivered mission critical and safe / smart city projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
